Meet The Trainer
is the owner of True North Training Solutions. She was fortunate to begin her career as a dog trainer in the late 1980s working with Steven Lindsay (trainer and author, Animal Behavior Consultants, Philadelphia, PA). Beth has attended many workshops and seminars in pursuit of continuing education, most notably the Bailey Behavior Models Workshops in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She worked with Bob Bailey as a Teaching Assistant in those workshops during the summers of 2003 and 2004. Since her discovery of positive reinforcement-based training methods in the mid 1990s, Beth has avidly pursued knowledge and skills in teaching people how to train their own animals using positive reinforcement. Her St. Paul business, Good Dog! Training Services, was ranked among the top dog training programs in the Twin Cities by the readers of Twin Cities Dog Magazine in 2003. Beth has worked as a field trainer for Hearing and Service Dogs of Minnesota and more recently with a project to provide Patriot Assistance Dogs of Detroit Lakes, MN with additonal foster homes for their dogs in training. She worked closely with East Central Veterinarians in Cambridge and Mora, MN, offering small group training classes at their clinic locations, as well as private instruction in the East Central Minnesota region and the Twin Cities metropolitan area. More recently, since her move to Redding, CA in August of 2017, Beth teaches group classes at an outdoor location behind the Redding Veterinary Hospital, 4275 Westside Rd., Redding. Beth has also enjoyed training her own critters, including chickens, horses, dogs, and a number of other animals.
